There is Nothing Like the Marara.
Designed by lifelong paddlers from Tahiti, its aerodynamic shape is a complete departure from traditional outrigger canoes. They started from scratch with multiple drawings on paper. Then, they crafted and tested ten different prototypes before sculpting the final mold to build the Marara V1 hull.
The Result?
An ample cockpit provides a comfortable seat, especially for endurance training. The smooth, round, black carbon lip is handling friendly. It provides a comfortable grip when getting in and out of the canoe or carrying it on your shoulder.
The adjustable, carbon iako is light, yet offers rigid support to keep the ama securely in place and minimize vibration. It provides optimal clearance in the front and back for paddling. With hardware that can be precisely adjusted millimeter by millimeter, the iako and ama can be easily positioned for your personal style of paddling, level of experience, and physique. Push it inward for more speed or desired tipping with less drag from the ama. Push it out for more balance, higher surf, or support of your weight.
The ama has more volume in the back where it’s needed for more supportive balance or in big waves, yet it can be raised in calm conditions to reduce or eliminate any drag that could slow you down.
The front of the canoe is as sleek as possible to drive through the water, rather than above it. So, your paddle connects with the water and leverages the power of each stroke.
The rocker, the bottom curve of the canoe, provides the ideal shape for all-around performance in all conditions – upwind, downwind, sidewind, high surf, and flat water. Unlike any other canoe, the Marara’s entire hull provides the best length/width ratio for high performance, while its narrow tail has the optimal volume to go fast.
